2023
Sustainable Irrigation for Local Farmers
The project installed a 5 HP solar pump and 380 Wp polycrystalline panels to provide reliable water access for over 20 farmers and their families. This initiative addresses challenges such as unreliable grid electricity and costly diesel pumps, significantly improving irrigation practices and promoting sustainable agriculture. Traditionally, farmers grew only paddy as their primary crop, with secondary crops like gram, black peas, and wheat dependent on water availability.
Despite having abundant water from a nearby dam flowing into a deep well, the lack of a proper pumping system made it inaccessible. The new solar pump system lifts water efficiently, enabling farmers to cultivate a second crop, boosting their income and fostering community-based entrepreneurship. This project exemplifies our commitment to empowering local farmers and enhancing agricultural productivity.

Community Solar Water pumping at Bhoirwadi, Junnar
In Bhoirwadi, Junnar, Maharashtra, SMA India collaborated with Gram Oorja for the installation of a 1.5 HP solar pump system, improving access to clean water for 35 households, home to around 210 residents. This project, part of the CSR initiative, included a storage tank, distribution pipeline, and two stand posts with four taps, providing reliable water access for domestic and irrigation needs. The efforts in community engagement, technical surveys, and local partnerships have saved villagers time and effort, eliminating the need to fetch water from distant sources.

Empowering Education with Solar Energy at Divya Vidyalaya, Jawhar.
A 7.8 kWp grid-tied solar photovoltaic power generation system was installed at Divya Vidyalaya, Jawhar. This system provides reliable electricity to the residential blocks, supporting nearly 130 blind and disabled children. This initiative ensures a sustainable and uninterrupted power supply, enhancing the learning environment for these students.
